Bundeswehr commissions first delivery of the new standard assault rifle G95A1 & KA1 from Heckler & Koch

Heckler & Koch GmbH has received the official order from the Federal Republic of Germany for the first delivery of the new standard assault rifle for the Bundeswehr. The rifle is based on the proven HK416 A8 model and will henceforth be designated G95A1 & KA1 within the forces.

“We are very pleased with the order and the trust that comes with it,” says CEO Dr Jens Bodo Koch. “The HK416 stands for cutting-edge technology, utmost reliability and precision – and it is a strong sign of the German industry’s ability to equip our armed forces in the best possible way.”

With the lot now commissioned, the delivery of a new generation of infantry weaponry for the Bundeswehr begins. The procurement process started in 2017 with a Europe-wide tender and was legally concluded in 2023. The order now placed marks the operational start of serial delivery.

Heckler & Koch is supplying the G95A1 & KA1 as a modular assault rifle built to the latest technical standards – optimised for the requirements of German soldiers both in deployment and in training.
